Weekend Preview: Bears Close Out Regular Season on Home Ice

It's been a banner season for Fond du Lac's hockey team, a season that is quickly coming to a close.

The Bears will host their final two regular season games of the season this weekend as they take on Mosinee Friday and Eagle River Saturday. Both games take place at 8 PM at Blue Line Family Ice Center.

From 6:15-6:45 PM Friday night, fans are invited to bring their skates and enjoy a pre-game skate with the Bears. The open skate is free of charge. During the first intermission, kids in local hockey jerseys are invited on the ice to help unveil the Bears 2022-23 GLHL Regular Season Championship banner and get pictures. It's the Bear's first regular season title since 2010. 

Saturday night is the Blue Line Big Money Raffle which will take place during the first intermission.

Friday could be a high-scoring affair between the top two offenses in the GLHL. The Bears lead the way with 143 goals scored in 18 games, with the Papermakers sitting in second with 123 goals scored in 18 games. The Bears are 3-0-0-0 against Mosinee this season, winning 8-7 in Fondy on November 5, 6-5 in Mosinee on January 14, and 9-4 in Mosinee on March 4.

The Bears close out the regular season Saturday with a matchup against the Falcons, who they have only faced once this season, a 7-2 victory on January 21 in Eagle River. The Falcons sit fourth in the GLHL with 20 points (9-6-1-1).
