Weekend Recap: Bears Down Mutineers 11-5

2023-01-10

The Bears came out of the Christmas break they went in - with a win.

A few weeks off didn't slow the Bears down Saturday night as they picked up their ninth straight victory to start the season.

Saturday (W 11-5) vs. Marquette Mutineers

It was quite the return to the ice for the Bears Saturday. The Bears and Mutineers combined for 121 penalty minutes, and 16 goals. Good thing for the Bears, they had 11 of the goals as they pushed their winning streak to nine. Goals by Connor McLaughlin, Ryan Smet, Anthony Grebe, and Brady Wright set the offensive tone early. Nick Monfils' name found the score sheet five times (3-2-5), culminating with the hat trick with 1:17 remaining. Grebe (2-3-5) also recorded five points in the game. The Bears are now 9-0 overall this season, 7-0 in the GLHL.
