GLHL Announces League Tournament Schedule

The Great Lakes Hockey League has announced the matchups and times for the 2019 League tournament. 

The 2019 GLHL Tournament is being hosted by the Mosinee Papermakers

The Fond du Lac Bears will begin play on Friday, March 29 at 10:45 AM against the Marquette Mutineers. Joining the Bears and Mutineers in Group C will be the host Papermakers, who the Bears will face Saturday, March 30 at 2 PM.

Group A features the Calumet Wolverines, De Pere Deacons and Eagle River Falcons.

Group B is made up of the West Bend Bombers, Fox Cities Ice Dogs and Portage Lake Pioneers.

The three pool winners, plus the next best team, will advance to the semi-finals Saturday evening. The League championship will be held Sunday, March 31 at 1 PM.

Tournament tie-breakers are decided in the following order:

1. Total points during preliminary rounds
2. Team goal differential during preliminary rounds (both games combined). 
3. Highest regular season seed.

The Bears finished 4th in the regular season standings at 8-8. Calumet, West Bend, and Mosinee tied for the league lead at 12-4, but Calumet won the tie-breaker and is the top overall seed in the tournament, followed by West Bend and Mosinee. 

The Bears went a combined 1-3 against Marquette/Mosinee during the regular season, with the lone win being an 8-0 victory over Marquette at home earlier this season.
