Weekend Preview: Bears Prepare to Open 2018-19 Season

The Bears open the 2018-19 season this weekend with a pair of home games against the Fox Cities Ice Dogs, and the Keevin Cup game with the West Bend Bombers.

Fond du Lac, WI - Hockey is back! After seven long months, Bears hockey returns to the ice this weekend for a pair of home games Friday and Saturday evening.

Tonight, the Bears host the Fox Cities Ice Dogs in a non-league matchup to get things started.

On Saturday, the Bears will face their arch-rival West Bend Bombers for the right to claim the Keevin Cup. Originally scheduled as a four-team tournament, the Keevin Cup this year will be a one-game matchup, due to Monroe ceasing operations shortly before the season.

Game Notes: The winner of this game will win the Keevin Cup. West Bend is the defending Keevin Cup champions after winning it last season. The Bombers are also the defending GLHL Tournament Champions, having beaten the Bears in the tournament semi-finals last season.
