2018-02-04

The Fond du Lac Bears erased an early 2-0 deficit to win 7-5 over the Calumet Wolverines Saturday night.

Seven different Bears found the back of the net Saturday night, erasing an early 2-0 deficit to take a 7-5 victory over the Calumet Wolverines.

A five-goal second period pushed the Bears in front, a lead in which they would not relinquish. Ryan Smet, Ian McKinch (power play), Terry Kalata, Benton Deanovich and Niles Owen all lit the lamp.

Tyler Gross (short-handed) and Tyler Acheson scored goals in the third to seal the victory.

Calumet had the edge in shots on goal with a 47-39 advantage.

The win bumps the Bears record to 7-4 in the Great Lakes Hockey League.

The Bears have next weekend off before returning home to Fond du Lac for games on February 16 & 17 against the De Pere Deacons and Fox Cities Ice Dogs. Puck drop for both contests is at 8 PM at the Fond du Lac Blue Line Family Ice Center. Admission is just $5.
